Dr. Yasmeen Punjani is an internist with a fellowship in geriatrics and more than three decades of clinical experience. At Scarborough General Hospital, Dr. Punjani serves as lead physician for the Geriatrics Assessment Intervention Network (GAIN) clinic.
Dr. Punjani’s work centres on comprehensive geriatric assessment, covering memory and thinking, balance and falls risk, medication review, mood, chronic disease, and advance care planning, and it extends to dementia care and de-prescribing (safely reducing unnecessary medications). Dr. Punjani welcomes families and caregivers as close partners in that work, so older adults can stay safe and independent in their own homes.
